Google Earth project

Utilizing volunteers, the Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation is starting to make keyhole markup language (kml) files available to users.  These files provide directory of National and State Register information in a format that can be viewed in Google Earth.

Currently, not all counties are completed.  We will post more counties as they become available.

Instructions for downloading and using the files:

1. Download and Install Google Earth
2. Download the County file in which you are interested by clicking on the appropriate link below.
3. In Google Earth; go to file>open, browse to and open the downloaded layer file (.kml)
4. The layer will show up in the Places menu
5. Use the dashboard in Google Earth to view directory listings, or click on the icons on the Google Earth map.
